As air travel becomes a part of people's everyday lives, places around the world, once considered virtually inaccessible to Europeans, such as Machupichu in Peru or the Foz de Iguaçu in Brazil, are now regular holiday destinations. As a result, the desirability of at least a rudimentary knowledge of languages other than English is becoming increasingly important.
A few hours per week of your time spent studying a language before you travel can make all the difference to your appreciation of foreign lands. The higher your level of comprehension, the greater your appreciation.
