Rock/Pop Guitar

I don't proclaim to be a guru of finding artists on the internet, but there are a couple of sites that I use which are really useful.

AllMusic.com, has a vast online expanse of great information on music of all genres. I find this site particularly useful for researching music made before the millennium, in addition the site is very accessible and easy to use.

Metacritic is a site all about reviews and has been around since 2000. It deals with current album releases and takes an average of all the reviews it acquires for each album, from music magazines to broadsheet newspapers to music blogs, and gives a score out of 100. Whilst the critics are not always right, and musical taste is entirely subjective, I have found this a useful site for learning about new releases and new music in general.

I hope these two sites can be of use to you, as they have been to me.
