Here's my book recommendation:

The Talent Code by Danny Coyle

I advise all students, teachers, musicians etc to read this book: it offers huge insights into HOW and we learn, and WHY some learn more quickly and effectively than others.

This book highlights the fact that 'far from being some abstract mystical power fixed at birth, ability really can be created and nurtured', and explains 'how the wiring of our brains can be transformed by the way we approach particular tasks'.

Most importantly, it 'shows how all of us can achieve our full potential if we set about training our brains in the right way'.
