Special Needs Music

I was born with Hydrocephalus.  I am often asked whether or not I consider myself disabled, "Heck NO!" I am enabled.

Growing up I had motor neuron difficulties and I know how it feels to find something difficult: That said, I also know how exhilarating success is. The vocalist in my band is dyslexic: He says that the best teacher he ever had was an English teacher who, also, was dyslexic.

As a teacher, if you have to think something through and think how you achieved it, you are in a better position to teach it.  My motto is, "Those who can - do, those who can't - shouldn't and those that can do, and can explain it - teach!".

Not only has Hydrocephalus enabled me to understand how I have learned, it has made me more sympathetic to learners in difficulty.
