Marco Bordogni 43 Bel Canto Studies

I would recommend the book Marco Bordogni 43 Bel Canto Studies to any trombonist of Grade 7 Upwards. These Lyrical Studies can really improve many aspects of playing including tone, legato playing, lip flexibility and general musicality.

I personally like this book because unlike many study books the Bordogni is not dull and boring, the bell canto studies are really good pieces of music and are fun to play whilst also really helping the technical side of your playing.

I suggest buzzing through the study you've chosen on the mouth piece first and then playing it on the instrument. Buzzing can really help breathing and phrasing also you'll be amazed at how much smoother and easier it is to then play on the instrument.
