University Chemistry

A very good book on organic chemistry and synthesis is The Disconnection Approach by Stuart Warren.

It's an excellent read for all university students and those passionate about A-level chemistry as well. It may be old (was first published in 1981), but it's extremely useful because of the plethora of examples.

An excellent way to learn the thinking behind synthetic approaches. It is necessary to say that some techniques have now become slightly outdated, as new catalysts and methords became available. Neverless, it is a solid read.
