University Classical Studies

My teaching experience lies on the conviction that there should be a distinction between the teaching methods for learning Ancient Greek and Modern Greek language.

In the case of Ancient Greek I put strong emphasis on the learning of syntax and grammar as they summarize the key point in which the interpretation of ancient expression lies upon.

Modern Greek, on the other hand, as a language that has been constantly evolving the last 3000 years, has formed complicated structures. Therefore, I feel that initially it’s necessary to approach the language through oral expression and formulating phrases in order for the student to reach gradually the knowledge of the language theory.
