University Economics

The book that I always recommend to my students starting a University Economics Degree is Macroeconomics by Gregory Mankiw.

Here is the link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Macroeconomics-N-Gregory-Mankiw/dp/0716767112

It gives a simplified, comprehensive and clear understanding of economic concepts for students. I used it myself during my undergraduate degree and found it to be the most useful book ever since on economics for tutoring my students.

The thing that makes this book special is the eloquence and simplicity with which Mankiw explains basic economic concepts. It quite clearly distinguishes between the different school of thoughts in economics which thoroughly helps me in unraveling the confusion in the minds of my students about "who says what".

I have become a big fan of Mankiw because of his clear understanding of basic economic concepts and his simplified explanations.

Here is his blog if anyone is interested in knowing more: http://gregmankiw.blogspot.com/
