'My idea is that there is music in the air, music all around us; the world is full of it, and you simply take as much as you require.'~Edward Elgar
Playing violin might appear like a very romantic and beautiful activity. When the sound floats in the air and one emotion is touched by invisible beauty - it is truly a precious experience. But it does take time to develop that kind of skill and a lot of patience and devotion while practicing. I am sure that many times, when you see a violinist playing, it might seem close to magic – what he or she is doing and the ability and skill he demonstrates.
But playing the violin is a skill that anyone could have. It teaches you how to take care of your body to avoid tension, how to work systematically, where to look for links between problems in order to solve them. Playing violin could teach you how to deal with failures (not all of us hit the right notes at all times) and how to fight the frustration and start again.
It is truly a lifelong experience and ongoing lesson.
