One of the most important things to bear in mind when learning any musical instrument is to find satisfaction and joy in playing music itself, regardless of the level one plays at. In order to get the most from playing, it's important to approach everything (even a short piece or a scale) as a musical performance, and not to be frightened to try your hand at singing, improvising and playing to other people - no matter how bad you think you are!

Any enthusiastic and supportive teacher will help this process considerably!
