My journey with music started when I was 7 years of age. That was the moment when I started to play violin. Before starting my education, I listened to my sister practicing for hours every day – at that time I really did not have a clue what was that she was doing.
I played violin for 6 years – attending music school and getting wide music knowledge and complex music training. That helped me in secondary school – when I was already a viola player. After studying for another 6 years I found myself in music academy. Looking for new ideas and ways of playing I went to Germany and moving from there – I finally found Ms Rivka Golani – who gave me what I was looking for.
While studying with Ms Golani I discovered the difference between just playing and aim-orientated practicing. When a music student is equipped with practicing techniques and knows why certain exercise is needed then the entire learning process becomes more aware and interesting.
Every music piece is like a little task or a riddle that a musician needs to solve. Without knowing HOW to practise it is impossible to recognize hidden problems. There is also another danger – while struggling with technical material, students tend to develop serious habits that often lead to health problems and injuries – that could even stop one from playing a musical instrument.
It is extremely important to be guided well and to be introduced to all the ‘tools that one must know to work in the right direction. With this knowledge every piece is not only a new challenge but also a new chance to enrich musical technique and one's skills. I am happy for the chance of meeting all of my teachers from all the countries in which I had studied. Now it is the time to share my knowledge and experience with others.
