Personal Message: I live for music, I've always been surrounded by it and feel that others should have the opportunity to share my passion and in time make it their passion.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I teach the Trumpet/Cornet from beginner to advanced. I also teach musical theory to Grade 5 ABRSM.
Tell me about your qualifications.: I have a Music degree from University of Chichester and I am currently studying at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich on the MMus part time course for two years. I also hold Grade 5 Theory with Distinction, Grade 8 Trumpet with Merit and an ATCL diploma.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have been involved in various workshops and concerts whilst at University for children and disabled persons. Most of this was in group form, however individual tutoring was included. I also have carried out a few mock Piano exams for other tutors.
How much do you charge?: For Trumpet/Cornet: £25 per hour, £15 for a half hour.

For Music Theory: £20 per hour for theory, group sessions also available.

I offer a free preliminary lesson of half an hour with all teaching.
Where do you teach?: I teach at students houses as I lived in rented accommodation.

I do not mind travelling anywhere in London to teach, however in certain circumstances an additional transport fee may be applied.
When are you available?: I am available Monday and Tuesday evenings up to 5.30pm, Thursday and Friday evenings up to 7/8pm and weekends from 10am until 12noon.

I like to continue teaching during seasonal holidays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: Ages 9 upwards (including adults) I teach for absolute beginner to advanced.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: This is up to the particular student, I am prepared to teach for grade exams (ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall) to Grade 8. Theory exams to Grade 5.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: No, however if the parent requests one I am more than happy to apply for one.

Your first Trumpet. What to buy?

Buying you first Trumpet can be a daunting and challenging task, especially if you are not quite sure what you are looking for. My advise would be to look and try out at Yamaha Trumpets.
