- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach English Literature and English Language at Key Stages 2 and 3, GCSE, A Level and Degree level. I also tutor History at GCSE, A Level and Degree.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 1st class Bachelors degree in English.
I also achieved a Distinction in my Masters degree in Early Modern History from King's College London.
I gained 3 As at A Level (English Literature, History and Psychology) and 1 A at AS Level (French). I also received 10 A*s at GCSE (including mathematics and triple science award).
I completed a 40-hour online Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification with i-to-i. - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have tutored a number of young people in preparation for their GCSEs and A Levels, helping them to improve their grades and their confidence in their subject. In addition, I have conducted practice interview sessions for University applications, and provided coaching for UCAS applications.
I have a range of experience in working with young people, including working as a Group Leader at PGL holidays.
I taught English as a Foreign Language to groups of adults in India for six months.
I have also worked as a professional proofreader. - How much do you charge?
- I charge between £30 and £35 an hour, according to the subject being taught. I do not charge for travel.
- Where do you teach?
- I am happy to teach in the students' homes. I teach in Crouch End, Archway, Finsbury Park, Highgate, Newington Green, Islington and Camden. I may also be able to travel to other parts of North London.
- When are you available?
- I am available on week day evenings, and can provide additional sessions during school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach from Key Stage 2 age, through GCSE and A Levels, to Degree level and adult learning.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- My most recent CRB certificate was issued in March 2011.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor, and I really enjoy helping my students to achieve their potential. I aim to provide tuition suited to each student's particular needs. I am very keen to meet any potential students and their parents, and please contact me if you need any further information.
