- Personal Message
- I am a post-graduate student at the Royal College of Music interested in passing on some of the skills I have picked up throughout my education.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach all of the specialisms listed above. I teach oboe and cor anglais to all levels, saxophone to grade 8 and piano to grade 6. I also teach theory to university or music college entrance levels.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I am a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music (BMus Hons 2:1) and currently studying at the Royal College of Music on the MPerf in Orchestral Performance programme.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- My teaching stretches back for about 4 years, beginning by covering friends and colleagues. This has grown now which means I have a vast experience of teaching at all levels.
- How much do you charge?
- My charges are listed above. There is a a 20% discount for a consultation lesson and I can also give half hour lessons (£12.50) and 45 minute lessons (£18.75). There may be extra charges if I travel to teach.
- Where do you teach?
- I am very flexible about where I teach. I like to teach in my flat (on the Sydenham/ East border of Crystal Palace Park) but I am willing to travel if it is easier for you. I also have a car for the areas not so well connected with public transport.
- When are you available?
- My teaching times are very flexible. The best thing to do is to phone me and discuss a time that would work for us both. It is likely that in school holidays I will not be in London and so unable to teach. However, please do not hesitate to contact me should you want lessons in the holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I like to teach all ages and levels. I would suggest a minimum age of 8-9 for the oboe, cor anglais and saxophone because of the physical demands. Piano and theory can be taught from the age of 5.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I can prepare students for any qualifications at request. I like to work to the ABRSM syllabus, however I am open to preparing my students for other exam boards.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an up to date CRB from the RNCM.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I want to pass on what I've learnt to you. If you think you might be interested, just give me a call and we can discuss where to go from there.
