About Alex
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 10 years experience in teaching EFL, including many years teaching practice of Cambridge Exams. I've worked in several schools in London, including several years at the British Council's highest rated EFL school.
I also have several years experience teaching as a visiting lecturer in Universities, both to undergraduates and postgraduates. I can provide help with study skills, essay writing and other academic tasks, as well as expert proof reading skills.
My own specialist area of teaching and research is in popular music and sociology, although I have experience providing university-level help with language and essay organisation for plenty of other subjects.

I teach Cambridge Exams - IELTS, BEC, FCE, CAE & CPE as well as General English, including all skills.
I can provide expert tutoring with study skills, essay writing and other academic tasks, as well as proof reading, should you require this.

I'm certified with CELTA
I also bring an excellent academic record, having completed my first degree with first class honours and additional prizes. I have both Masters and now a PhD in the area of Popular Music and Sociology.
- How much do you charge?
Cambridge Exams (IETLS, CAE, FCE, CEP, BEC) & General English- £40 p/hour
Essay writing, study skills and all other university-level assistance - £50 p/hour
- Where do you teach?
I can teach at home during the daytime and travel during daytimes and evenings (for a small additional fee).
I'm based in East Putney, conveniently close to tube and rail stations, and happy to travel to within 45 minutes of where I live.
- When are you available?
I can teach daytimes and evenings, and also some weekends, depending on my schedule.

Age 16 and over, at all levels.
