I am a qualified classroom and instrumental teacher and a HPC registered music therapist.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the flute, piano, theory (including exams) and can tutor GCSE and A level music.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BMus (hons) for which I received a 2.1. I then studied for my PGCE in secondary music and instrumental music and later for my diploma and MA in music therapy.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have worked with individuals and groups of various ages and levels of ability. I have experience with both children and adults with learning difficulties, ASD and profound learning difficulties. I have worked in schools, day centres, residential homes and hospitals as both a teacher and music therapist.
How much do you charge?
The first lesson is half price and then I charge £27 however, this is dependent on whether I have to travel. Price is negotiable and discounts may apply for groups.
Where do you teach?
I am available to teach from home (Bath) or can travel around the areas of Bath, Bristol and parts of Wiltshire. It is always worth enquiring as I am flexible and willing to negotiate.
When are you available?
I am available to teach most evenings from home or around the local area (from 6.30 Mon and Thurs) and all day on friday. I am available in the holidays and will consider some weekend work.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach ages 5+ and can teach to grade 8+ on the flute and grade 6/7 on the piano. I also teach theory and tutor GCSE and A Level.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM practical and theory exams (although I can teach other exam boards) and GCSE/A Level music.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes, for both children and vulnerable adults.
