- I am 30 Years Old and I am a teacher of History in an outstanding school. All tutoring will be tailored to individual students needs to achieve maximum progression.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach History, R.E and Geography.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a 2-1 in History from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. I also have a PGCE from Kingston University in Secondary History. I am a qualified examiner for AQA.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have six years teaching experience in a secondary school. I have been tutoring for three years and my students have achieved outstanding results both at GCSE and A-Level. I have full responsibility for A-Level at my school, and I am a specialist at GCSE Modern World History
- How much do you charge?
- My charges are outlined as above. The first consultation session will be £5 cheaper e.g for A-Level history- it will be £20 an hour.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach at home in Bracknell in Berkshire. Bracknell is centrally located and is easy to get to from major towns such as Reading, Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Guildford and Ascot. My house is a ten minute drive from the Surrey border. I would be willing to drive for a small extra fee to nearby towns such as Warfield or Crowthorne, and of course Bracknell itself.
- When are you available?
- I'm available to tutor Monday to Friday after 5 pm and also on Saturdays from 10 to 4 pm.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach 11 to 18 year olds up to A-Level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- GCSE and A-Level.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- I am very into my History and belong to the Historical Association as well as the NUT.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- Kingston University
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I find a lot of my students struggle with timings in exams, and this is all to do with planning. Allocating a set amount of time for each question and planning your answers before you write them will ensure you complete your examinations to the best of your ability.
