Personal Message: I am a bass trombonist studying at the Royal College of Music, and freelance in London.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I teach Bass Trombone, Tenor Trombone and Music Theory
Tell me about your qualifications.: I have grade 8 Bass Trombone with distinction, grade 6 piano, grade 6 Euphonium, and grade 5 music theory all from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. I have 3 A levels, including music which i received an A grade. I am studying at the Royal college of music under David Stewart and have just finished my third year on the Bmus course.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have coached small brass groups and sectionals for Hertfordshire county, as well as coaching the trombone section for NYJO London. I am keen to expand my private pupils. I have studied the art of teaching and outreach as part of my degree, and have received first class grades in both. In terms of performing experience, I learnt to play at Hertfordshire county where I played in their big band, youth orchestra, schools symphony orchestra, brass band and wind band. I have performed with both the Royal College of music Sinfonietta and Symphony orchestras, the Royal College of Music big band and the RCM Brass ensemble. I have been playing for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra for 3 years now and have had the bass trombone chair for the last year. I have sat in with the London Symphony Orchestra and numerous west end shows. I am also the bass trombonist for 'Bones Collective' - a student led trombone quartet made up of fourth years and graduates of the RCM.
How much do you charge?: I charge: £25 per hour and £20 for 45 mins.
Where do you teach?: I am happy to travel to the student's home preferably in the West London area but will also consider travelling further afield (although this may incur a small travelling fee). I am mobile even if the students house is not near tube/train stations as I have access to a car.
When are you available?: I am not available to teach on Saturday mornings, but apart from that I am flexible and would be able to arrange convenient times for both the pupil and myself, however it may not be at the same time or day each week but plenty of notice will be given.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I can teach any aged pupil and have experience working with young and more mature people. I can teach the trombone from beginner to grade 8 and music theory from grade1 up to and including grade 5.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: No
