What kind of experience do you have?
I am an experienced, successful classroom teacher who is currently working part time in a small London school.
I have nearly 20 years experience teaching pupils of all ages and differing abilities, in both secondary and primary schools. During my teaching career, I have held both Head of Year and Head of Department posts.
As an experienced tutor, I assess pupils' abilities, potential and problems at an initial session and then set achieveable goals accordingly, working closely with my student and their family.
I also have experience in coaching PGCE Science students (both in schools and as a tutor) helping with subject knowledge, planning, assessment and classroom skills.
I am fully IT literate and also have considerable experience teaching Special Needs pupils and those with English as a foreign language.
How much do you charge?
I offer a free initial consultation (45 minutes) to see if I am the right tutor, where I assess what is needed by the student (please click on my Full Profile to see my article about this)
I charge between £20 and £35 per hour depending on the level to be taught (please see Subjects list)
Discounts are made for group tuition and for longer lessons (up to 2 hours)
I do not charge travelling expenses and provide all resources (topic/revision notes)
Where do you teach?
I travel to students' homes in West London, mainly Ealing but also in Greenford, Acton, Wembley, Richmond, Twickenham, Shepherd's Bush, Kensington and Chelsea. I have also tutored students in Central London.

I also enjoy tutoring adult learners

Do you have a personal message for students?
I love all aspects of Science and find it very rewarding to pass on my enthusiasm and knowledge, whilst trying to help my pupils enjoy their own learning in this subject.
I am friendly and relaxed in my approach to teaching, injecting some fun into lessons with different techniques to work on both strengths and weaknesses, whilst always maintaining high levels of learning. This boosts confidence so that students start to feel comfortable with the subject I love!
How to know where to begin?
When I first meet a new student and their family, it is really important that we decide what areas need to be worked on first so that our sessions start to help and show results in all areas - in class work, homework, tests or revision.... and most importantly, for long-term success, a boost...
Things to Remember When You See Your Paper!
Whenever an important test or exam is looming, my students worry about how just how much they know. They write 'Done' on their revision timetables, nag friends and family to test them and peer at flash cards whenever they have a spare moment! But whatever level you are being tested in,...
