Personal Message
I am a young, enthusiastic violin teacher in the Canterbury area. I aspire to create a fun and creative learning environment to ensure that students feel inspired and relaxed during lessons.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach violin, viola and music theory/composition.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Bachelor of Music Honours degree from Canterbury Christ Church University (violin, theory and composition).
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been playing the violin from an early age and have extensive playing experience in a solo, chamber and orchestral environment. I co-led the Symphony orchestra for three years while at Canterbury Christ Church University, performing a wide range of challenging repertoire.
How much do you charge?
I charge £22 per hour and £13 for half an hour.
Where do you teach?
I usually teach in my own home. I am willing to travel to students' houses around the Canterbury area but will charge a small amount of travel expense when appropriate.
When are you available?
I am flexible with availability with the exception of Wednesday afternoons/evenings.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach beginner to ABRSM grade 8 and am happy to teach children and adults. However, for the violin/viola, I recommend a minimum age of 7 due to the physical demands and complexity of the instrument.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for all ABRSM graded practical and theory exams and any scholarship or entrance exams.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I am in the process of acquiring a CRB certificate.
Where and with whom did you train?
I received violin tutoring under Stelios Chatziiosifidis (Royal Academy of Music) and Theory/Composition tutoring under Dr. Eva Mantzourani and Prof. Paul Edlin.
