I am a vivacious and experienced musician with a passion for musical theatre and chamber music. I enjoy teaching as it allows me to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm to anyone who wishes to learn.

Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Violin to people of all ages and standards.

Tell me about your qualifications.
I have graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a Bachelor of Music with Honours on violin, and also studied viola as a second instrument.

What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught for the last three years in several schools in both group and individual lessons. As a player and performer I specialise in chamber music and musical theatre, as well as playing regularly in several orchestras. Away from my music I have also taught horse riding both in groups and individually.

How much do you charge?
At my apartment - £25 for an hour of tuition, £20 for 45 minutes, £15 for half an hour
At your home - same rates apply for tuition, but with addition of 30p per mile of travel from my home to yours (if you live in or around Manchester, this will equate to roughly £5)

Where do you teach?
I preferably teach at my home near Salford Quays, however I can drive to you if necessary.

When are you available?
My timetable is very flexible as I teach alongside my professional freelance performing, so it would be easy to arrange a time which suits you. I teach during termtime and in school holidays if you should so choose.

Which ages and levels do you teach?
Ages 5 and above.
Any standards welcome.

Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I would be happy to work with students towards any ABRSM graded examinations.

Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes I have a valid CRB check.

Where and with whom did you train?
I studied with Roger Coull of the Coull String Quartet for five years before attending the RNCM, and with Benedict Holland and Michael Gurevich during my studies at the college. I have also received chamber music tutelage under players such as Stephen Orton, Dave Routledge, Petr Prause (cellist, Talich Quartet), and the late Christopher Rowland (first violinist, Fitzwilliam Quartet).

Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently have many private students of varying standards, and ranging in age from 4 to 61 years. I very much enjoy the individual approach I can give to my students as no two are alike, which I feel is a fantastic way to explore the many differing ways in which people learn most effectively.
