- Personal Message
- Whether a total beginner or pursuing a career in performance, singing lessons can, through good technique and appropriate repertoire, accomplish so much - be it confidence, better posture or fun!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I am a classical singing teacher, though have a great deal of experience teaching a huge variety of styles to students ranging from 5 - 56. I also teach music theory and am able to coach music theatre students in combining the art of singing with that of drama.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have an hons degree in singing from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- As a singer, I have worked with a number of opera companies across Europe and have been teaching for the last 4 years, both classroom and peripatetic as well as working with a London stage school.
- How much do you charge?
- £35 per hour lesson, though for young children and groups reductions can be arranged.
- Where do you teach?
- I am happy to travel to your home or arrange the hire of a studio - there are various options around London at very reasonable rates which would be shared between us. I am based in Bounds Green (N London) so travel to central London is not a problem. Areas outside of central London would need to be discussed in advance.
- When are you available?
- I am available at almost any time by arrangement. There are very few fixed dates that are not possible. Weekends are preferable.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am happy to teach anyone over the age of 5 and of any ability.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I have been working with the ABRSM scheme for both practical and theory exams but am happy to look at other options that better suit the style of my students - such as the 'Rockschool' exams for rock/pop and jazz musicians.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes, from two London schools and a school in Hastings.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- At GSMD with Annette Thompson and now with Robert Dean.

The Common Misconception About Good Technique
