- I am an experienced teacher of piano and theory who has taught at all levels and age groups. I tailor my teaching to suit the personal goals and aspirations of each individual student.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Piano, Theory and Composition.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I am currently completing a MMus (Fast-Track) in Composition at the Royal College of Music. I hold a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours, Piano and Composition) and a Bachelor of Arts (History and French) both from the University of Melbourne. In addition I have a Licentiate Diploma of Music of Australia, Piano.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have taught Piano and Theory at Caulfield Grammar School, Theory at Melbourne High School and tutored 2nd year Counterpoint and Harmony at the University of Melbourne. In addition I have taught Piano and Theory privately for over ten years. I have performed at major concert halls in Australia and recorded, broadcast and toured in Australia and South East Asia. As a composer I have written for and/or participated in workshops with the BBC Singers, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, dissonArt ensemble (Greece), Mercury Quartet and Composer's Ensemble.
In addition I have also worked in music publishing and administration. - How much do you charge?
- I charge £25/hr with discounts available for group lessons.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach in students' homes and am available to teach within Zones 1 to 3 in London.
- When are you available?
- I am available most afternoons and evenings and I am happy to work around after-school and work commitments. I realise that schedules can change and become very busy and I am able to provide flexible lesson times should the circumstances require it.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach and have taught at all levels from beginners to intermediate to college/university level.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I do not currently have a CRB disclosure certificate.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I studied Piano with Associate Professor Stephen McIntyre at the University of Melbourne and Composition with Dr Jonathan Cole at the Royal College of Music.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am an enthusiastic teacher who will listen and adapt to what you would like to get out of music and do my best to help you to achieve these goals.
