- I am an instrumental teacher with over 25 years experience.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- The piano and the cello are my 2 specialities but we have homeschooled 7 children over a 20 year period too! 4 are attending university , the eldest doing medicine at Edinburgh.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I studied at the Royal College of Music and obtained a B.Mus (Lon) and ARCM teaching qualification.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been teaching the cello and piano for over 25 years running individual lessons with musicianship and theory classes for both children and adults.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £16 for half hour lessons, £24 for 45minutes and £32 for an hour. But if fees are an issue please do contact me anyway.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach in Felixstowe primarily but may be able to travel depending on circumstances etc.
- When are you available?
- During the week - daytime and evenings.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- Primary school age through Secondary and Adults.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Associated Board and Guildhall/ Trinity practical and theory examinations.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- I belong to the British Kodaly Society , the Musician's network of Christian musicians, and play with the English Baroque Solosits, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Florilegium.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I trained with Joan Dickson and Colin Horsley at the Royal College of Music and have trained under David Vinden - British Kodaly Academy and the Colourstrings Silvay Institute.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have students of many ages from 6 up to 50 . Several have gone on to music colleges to study and many have reached grade 8 .
