Personal Message
My recent exploration of teaching in a group context has proven very successful and very enjoyable for my students.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Piano (practical and theory)
GCSE Music (Performing, composing and listening)
Popular musical styles in a solo and group context. I am also available for accompanying other instruments in exams and other performances.

What kind of experience do you have?
I have 10 years experience as a piano teacher. During this time I have taught one-to-one lessons from home, peripatetic group lessons in secondary school and adult group lessons in adult education. For the last five years I have been teaching in a secondary school where I have taught KS3 music and GCSE music (11-16yrs) During this time I have taught large groups, small groups and one-to-one students, entering many for GCSE music with piano as their first instrument and coaching them after school in order to improve their keyboard skills.
How much do you charge?
£30 per hour for individual lessons (most students begin with a half hour lesson once a week)
Group teaching - £12 per 45mins. This is a fun way of learning with other students which is very successful and worth giving a try. Further details are on my website or call for a chat. Free trial lessons are offered to every student.
Where do you teach?
I teach in an especially designed music studio on my premises (separate from my house) Areas likely to travel to me are: Sidcup, Eltham, Blackfen, Bexley, Bexleyheath, Dartford, Chislehurst, Mottingham, New Eltham, Blackheath etc. My address is Kent but I am very close to the SE9 postcode.
When are you available?
Week nights and Saturdays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and all levels. (4-7 year olds follow a special music program which will be for a shorter period than 45 mins and the cost is estimated depending on the amount of time given) All students and parents (where appropriate) are invited to an informal chat followed by a free trial lesson to assess the needs of the student.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM grades 1-8 Practical and Theory (other exam boards where appropriate)
GCSE music
Available as an accompanist to other instrumentalists which can also help to prepare students for their examinations.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
CRB checked - up to date.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I do not offer on-line tutoring at present but would support current students in an on-line capacity where necessary.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
NUT GTC
Where and with whom did you train?
Details of where I trained are in my qualifications section above.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I believe that all students can learn music/piano to a level that is suitable for them and I enjoy catering for all students and their varying needs. I encourage you to give my group lessons a try in order to learn with other students and be part of a very friendly environment - individual lessons can also be given wherever necessary.
