- Hi I'm Claire. I'm a 27, friendly energetic teacher working in South West London. I qualified in 2007 and since taught from Nursery - Year 2. I believe in giving students the best possible start in life, and hopefully I can play a part in that.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I currently work as a primary teacher so teach all primary subjects.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a BA degree in Primary Education, with a specialism in Science. I also also studied nursery nursing and am a qualified nanny.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been teaching now for 4 years and have taught Nursery - Year 2 aged children. (3-7 years old) I am the science coordinator for my current school. I have tutored 2 key stage 2 girls in Maths.
- How much do you charge?
- For Early Years and Key Stage 1 I charge £30.00 per hour. For Key Stage 2 I charge £30.00 per hour. I charge a small amount for travel to Kingston, Putney, Roehampton and Croydon. I am happy to tutor 2 children on the same subject, of the same age, at the same time for a reduced fee e.g. £40 per hour for Early Years and Key Stage 1 £50.00 per hour for Key Stage 2.
- Where do you teach?
- I will come to the student's home to tutor. I work in the Pimlico and am happy to tutor in Wimbledon, Southfields, Raynes Park, Colliers Wood. For a small extra fee I am willing to travel to Kingston, Putney, Roehampton and Croydon to tutor.
- When are you available?
- I am available to tutor on Mondays and Thursday evenings from 5ish. I am also available to tutor on Saturday and Sunday during the day.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I currently teach year 1 (5-6 year olds) I have previously taught Nursery, Reception and Year 2 pupils. Being a qualified Nursery nurse/ nanny I have had extensive experience with children in the Foundation Stage (Early Years).
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an up to date CRB carried out by my current employer.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- GTC - General Teaching Council
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I trained at Roehampton University, which is known for its teacher training qualifications.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have tutored 2 students, both were Key Stage 2 and needed extra support in Maths. Both are now making the National average expected for their level.
