- Personal Message
- I am an enthusiastic musician. I hope to pass on some of my enthusiasm for music through my teaching.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Cello - all ages and levels
Piano - all ages, up to grade 5
Chamber music coaching - Tell me about your qualifications.
- MA - Royal Academy of Music
BMus (hons) first class - Birmingham Conservatoire - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been teaching for 7 years and have taught a wide variety of ages and standards, both on cello and piano. In the past I have taught both cello and piano at Stratford Upon Avon music centre, and currently teach at Francis Holland School.
- How much do you charge?
- £30 per hour
£15 per half hour
A consultation lesson will always be free of charge as it is very important that you have the right teacher for you or your child. - Where do you teach?
- I prefer to teach at pupils' homes as I don't have a large amount of space in my flat. I'm based in north west London but I am willing to travel around and across London.
- When are you available?
- I can usually be quite flexible about lesson times, as my work is quite sporadic. I am quite happy to teach during school holidays if you require.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am happy to teach all ages. The youngest I would be comfortable teaching would be about 5, unless they are capable of the concentration required.
For cello, I am happy to teach all levels, from beginner to advanced.
For piano I prefer to teach up to grade 5 standard. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I usually prepare my students for the ABRSM grades, but I feel that each student is different, and some pupils progress better without these exams to work towards.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
- Where and with whom did you train?
- Most recently I studied with David Smith at the Royal Academy of Music, and before with Catherine Ardagh-Walter at Birmingham Conservatoire.

One aspect of performing that I find difficult is performing from memory. It isn’t the actual memorising that I have difficulty with so much, it’s how to actually perform from memory and not have any slips, either in...
