About Timothy
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been playing the double bass and bass guitar from an early age and have performed with many different professional and non-professional ensembles including: Cornwall Youth Orchestra (2000-2005) and National Youth Wind Orchestra (2002-2007) Duchy Ballet, Hull Choral Union, The Amadeus Orchestra, The Bombay Chamber Orchestra, La Folia and the St Endellion Festival Orchestra. This included performing in many top performance venues including The Royal Festival Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, St John's Smith Square and Symphony Hall (Birmingham).
For the last two years I have been working on cruise ships, performing in the Saga Sapphire and Saga Ruby house bands . During this time I have had the experience of supporting a range of musicians including; Elaine Delmar, Tony Fisher, The Hot Rhythm Orchestra, Mike Sterling, Des O'Connor, Kenny Martin, Anita Harris, Dana and Anthony Stuart Lloyd as well as many others.
As a tutor I have coached double bass sections in youth orchestras and spent a year as a music assistant at Wells Cathedral School where I ran workshops and took lower string sectionals. As a classroom teacher I have experience of teaching in a variety of different schools.

I am a professional musician working in London. I am a patient and friendly teacher. I tailor lessons to pupils' individual needs and interests and believe that learning should be fun.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the classical double bass, jazz bass and bass guitar. As a newly qualified teacher I have experience of teaching primary school curriculum. I particularly specialise in English and music and I teach these subjects in both KS2 and KS3.

- Where do you teach?
I teach at home and at students' homes across London. I'm willing to travel to most parts of London to teach.
- When are you available?
I am quite flexible and am currently available most weekdays and evenings. I sometimes do classroom supply teaching which is flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages. For instrumental tuition I teach from beginner up to grade 8. I teach the primary curriculum and can teach English and Music up to GCSE level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If pupils are interest in taking exams, I prepare them for ABRSM (although can look into other qualifications if requested).
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have a Skype account and am able to get online from home at any time. I arrange the time like a normal lesson unless the pupil prefers a different arrangement e.g breaking up the time into slightly smaller chunks.
