- Hello, my name is Craig & I am a young & enthusiastic chemistry teacher who wants to help students understand and enjoy chemistry. I invite you to contact me so that I can help you take the next step.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Chemistry at all levels from Standard grade through to Advanced higher. University chemistry also taught, though restrictions apply so please contact me.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BSc Honours in Chemistry and Drug Discovery. I then went on to do further studies and obtained a PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education Secondary) at the University of Strathclyde and I now teach chemistry and science in a secondary school in Fife.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have tutored for over 3 years and have taken on students of all abilities and students working at all levels.
- How much do you charge?
- Standard Grade Chemisty £25p/h, Intermediate 1 & 2 Chemistry £25p/h, higher Chemistry £25p/h, Advanced Higher Chemisty £30p/h, University Level Chemistry £30p/h (restrictions apply) General Science all levels £20p/h.
- Where do you teach?
- I tend to teach at students' homes and cover all areas of Glasgow. I am also willing to travel further to Paisley and its surrounding areas along with Inverclyde and parts of Ayrshire. If you do not stay within these areas but would like to know if I could come to you please do not hesitate to contact me.
- When are you available?
- Monday - Wednesday 6pm - 10pm.
Friday 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
Saturday and Sundays Various times - Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach general science at all levels (1st to 4th year) and Chemistry at all levels (1st-6th year).
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I help students work towards qualifications within school and give them the skills to take on to college or university.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have been disclosed for work within the Scottish Education System. My certificate is available to view on request.

- EiS (Educational Institute for Scotland) and GTCS (General Teaching Council Scotland)
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I trained with the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow which is recognised as the best University in Scotland for Chemistry. Strathclyde is also the 5th best University for Chemistry in the UK behind the likes of Oxford, Cambridge and UCL.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have a few students currently of varying abilities and working at different levels (Standard Grade - Advanced Higher). I like to maintain a healthy balance between hard work, understanding chemistry and making chemistry good fun and enjoyable.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Hello, my name is Craig & I am a young & enthusiastic chemistry teacher. I am willing to take on students of all abilities and levels. I will do my best for all my students as long as they are willing to put the work in for themselves and me. I gain satisfaction from helping students debunk the myth that chemistry is a "hard subject" which is impossible to understand. Students who are prepared to work hard and enjoy chemistry will be successful in the subject.
