About Daniel

- What kind of experience do you have?

Regarding teaching I have been a private teacher since 2012 and have recently started working as a cover teacher in schools.
I gained important experience teaching and coaching early and modern music on a number of summer courses in Spain, France and Luxembourg.
As a specialist period instrument performer I participated as a tutor on workshops and outreach projects for then Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Shakespeare's Globe.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I do not have a certificate but can arrange for one if required.

Whether you're completely new to the world of music or post grade 8, I aim to give a musical education that is enriching and fun at the same time.
Lessons can be arranged in English, French, German or Italian.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

Instrumental:
I teach trombone, modern and any historical variation. Although I'm a trombone specialist, I'm also experienced in teaching euphonium and trumpet and french horn.

Chamber music:
I have coached a variety of early and contemporary, brass and wind ensemble and am able to host quartet formations at my teaching studio.

Musicianship/ Theory:
These lessons include, but will not be limited to;
Note reading/singing skills,
General Music Theory,
Sight reading/singing,
Ear Training and Dictation,
Rhythm,

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I received my MMus from the Royal College of Music and a BMus from the Royal Northern College of Music. I currently undertake further part-time studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, (CH) in preparation to my planned Ph.D project.

- How much do you charge?

Prices can range from £35-45 pounds for an hour long lesson and £25 for half hour lesson.
These prices are based on where you are located and whether you would like an individual lesson or a group lesson. Please contact me with details.

I also offer taster sessions for new trombone students at a reduced price.

- Where do you teach?

I prefer teaching in my studio as I find it important to have access to all my books and teaching aids.
However, I'm happy to travel and teach you at your home. (please note that prices for lessons might be adjusted).

- When are you available?

As a Freelancer my schedule can be very flexible I can arrange lessons so that they are at a time that suits both, you and me.

Weekdays or weekends; mornings, afternoons and evenings.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach all levels and ages.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

For online tutoring, I would share my Skype / FaceTime details with you and arrange lesson times and payment through PayPal. Lessons can make use of shared screens and exchange of pdf documents as required.
