Personal Message
I am a flute teacher, based in Greenwich but willing to travel to you. If you're interested please get in touch
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Flute
Tell me about your qualifications.
Gradfe 8 distinction (ABRSM, 2007)
A-levels: AAB
Currently studying for a BMus (Hons) degree in Performance at Trinity College of Music
What kind of experience do you have?
I have private flute teaching experience, as well as other relevant experience to teaching, such as classroom experience in a Junior School music class, and helping with children's and youth clubs.
How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per hour, but I also offer half hour lessons (£12.50).
Where do you teach?
I can travel to my students' homes, or you can come to me. I am living in Greenwich, and am willing to travel anywhere in South, East or Central London that is easily accessible via public transport. My parents live in South Woodford, and I have a pupil in Woodford Green, which makes it very easy for me to teach anywhere in that area as well.
When are you available?
I can be quite flexible, both during the day and some evenings, so if you're interested I'm sure we can find a time to suit us both!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can teach any ages - children or adults. If you're a complete beginner or would like to improve you're playing then I can help
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare and enter students for ABRSM graded exams and would encourage them to do so, but there is no obligation to take exams if you don't want to! If you just want to learn to play without any pressure of exams, that's absolutely fine as well.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The Incorporated Society of Musicians
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied the flute privately with Susan Fitzgerald before entering Trinity College of Music. I was also actively involved in the music department at Chigwell School with a music scholarship, and attended Redbridge Music School. I currently study the flute with Lynda Coffin and Piccolo with Alan Baker. I have also participated in a number of masterclasses and consultation lessons with leading performers such as Anna Noakes, Paul Edmund-Davies, Helen Keen, Jonathan Snowden and Sue Thomas.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I enjoy watching students progress with their skills and enjoy themselves at the same time!
