- Hello! I am a highly experienced Keyboard Player, Composer, Teacher, and Computer Wizz...
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I am able to teach Piano (Classical, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Blues), Theory (Jazz and Classical), Composition (especially Pop and TV Music), and Music Technology (Logic, Cubase, Sibelius + more).
We can work towards grades or learn for fun. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a 1st Class BA Hons in Music from the University of Durham, and have completed a summer Jazz programme with the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. I have also studied privately with tutors from the Guildhall and the Royal Academy.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have over 5 years of teaching experience and am also an active Musician / Composer...
Playing the Keyboard, I have had the opportunity to perform with some of the best session musicians in the business - this has included the band members of Stevie Wonder, Prince, Amy Winehouse and more. I have taken to the stage all over the UK and also in Jazz Bars, Clubs, and Restaurants as far afield as Japan, Korea, and Australia.
As a Composer I have had my work used on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and at Theatres across London. - How much do you charge?
- I am able to offer a free 30minute consultation lesson - this allows me to find out what you are looking to get from the lessons and for you to ask any questions.
After the consultation my lessons are:
£25 p/h at my house
£32 p/h if I travel to you - Where do you teach?
- I teach at my house in Stoke Newington (N16) and am also able to travel to anywhere within a few miles. That includes: Dalston / Hackney / London Fields (E8), Clapton (E5), Highbury (N5), Islington / Barnsbury / Canonbury / Hoxton (N1), Finsbury Park / Harringay (N4), Crouch End / Hornsey (N8), Tottenham (N15)
- When are you available?
- Flexible - Available both daytime and evenings depending when is convenient for you.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I currently teach both Kids and Adults. Some are complete beginners, some are talented classical musicians who are looking to start playing jazz. I also teach a lot of 'traditionally' taught musicians who are looking to get to grips with music technology to help them compose and record.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- The more theoretical aspects of music tuition can be taught online via Skype.
