- Tell me about your qualifications.
- Cert of Ed Distinction Bed Hons in Special Needs NPQH MAPS at Med level. Level 2 certificate from Ofsted which means my teaching was outstanding.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- 20 years of experience from teaching Primary, being a headteacher for 10 years in three different schools. Teaching young offenders upto 18 years and also lecturing 16 - 18 year olds functional skills in a local college. Also, teaching in an EBD school age 10-16. Being a SENCO and making strategic decisions.I also have experience writing material for a soft ware company for dyslexia and dyscalculia.I also teach GCSE Maths at an FE College.
- How much do you charge?
- I do not charge for the first session as I use this to get to know each other and have a base line to plan future lessons. Every lesson is £20.00 per lesson therafter.
- Where do you teach?
- I live near Bridgwater, am prepared to travel to the student's home, and travel to the student's home. My work is around Taunton, Bridgwater and Weston Super Mare and within North Somerset and Somerset.
- When are you available?
- I am available weekday evenings and Saturdays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach KS2 - KS4 which would be to GCSE.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- GCSE'S and functional skills, SATS
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- yes I have a current CRB.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- NAHT. IFL and registered with GTC.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- UWE and Bristol University
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have engaged many students from the Youth Offending Team who have not engaged in education for a year or so.Many of my students who have 1;1 at home have gained confidence and this has increased their grades in school. Some have moved more than one level in 2 months. I have supported parents in getting the right help for their child and they have obtained extra support or funding to support their learning difficulties which have gone unrecognised in school in many cases. Recently I have had a 98% pass rate with Functional Skills Maths.
