- I teach Violin and Viola, as well as giving GCSE and A Level Music tuition.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a First Class degree in Music from the University of Manchester (MusB) and a Masters in Violin Performance and Composition from the Royal Northern College of Music (MMus).
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been teaching violin and viola, both privately and in schools, for many years. I have also recently been teaching the GCSE and A Level classes (including composition tuition) in one of my schools. As well as teaching I have an active playing career, performing with some of the country's leading orchestras.
- How much do you charge?
- My rates are £25 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach from my home on the edge of Didsbury and Burnage, Manchester.
- When are you available?
- My timetable is very flexible, so it will be no problem to find a time that suits you.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- My pupils range from 4 to 74, and from absolute beginners to beyond Grade 8. All ages and abilities welcome.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I am happy to prepare pupils for ABRSM grades. My pupils have achieved great results from grade 1 right through to grade 8. I am also happy to prepare students for theory exams and GCSEs/A levels.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I started learning the Suzuki method at the age of 4 with Lucy Akehurst. I have since studied with Peter Bridle, Peter Cropper (of the renowned Lindsay Quartet), Julia Hanson and Wen Zhou Li at the RNCM.
