- Personal Message
- My lessons encourage a relaxed, fun approach to learning the piano, and I aim to pass on my enthusiasm and nurture a lifelong interest in this rewarding instrument.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Piano, Music Theory, Composition.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I began my musical education by taking piano lessons at the age of seven in Bucarest/Romania. I completed my primary school education at Bucarest French College. In 1996, I was chosen after several exams and was accepted to the department of Music at Izmir Anatolian Fine Arts High School. At this school, I took basic piano and violoncello and gratuated in June 2000.
In the same year, I was found to be successful through several tests such as Piano, Composition and Opera Branch at the Ankara Bilkent University / Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, and also at the Composition and Conducting Main Branch of the Izmir Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatory. I prefered to conduct my studies at Izmir Dokuz Eylul State Conservatory and thus started my undergraduate degree training at Composition Branch as the student of Prof. Istemihan Taviloglu. After studying one year prepatory class, I completed my four years undergraduate studies in three years. I skipped the academic year of third grade, and I graduated in June 2004 with an average mark of 90.35/100 and also became the first in this department to do so.
I was accepted to the Music Main Branch Composition Branch of the Izmir Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Fine Arts within the same year, for my master's of art degree completion. I once again skipped the prepatory class, and completed the process of lessons/training phase whit a high mark of 4/4 under supervision of Prof. Istemihan Taviloglu. Since Prof. Istemihan Taviloglu passed away in March 2006, I continued my Master of Art degree and submitted my thesis to the commission and thus graduated in May 2007. The subject of my thesis involved the technical analysis of Hungarian composer Gyorgy Ligeti's Lux Aeterna.
Since 1992, I have given given piano recitals and concerts at Bucharest French Culture Center, Izmir Sabancı Cullture Palace and Ismet Inonu Art Center. My piano chamber music compositions have been performed at the Izmir Dokuz Eylul University Orhan Barlas Hall and Izmir Sanat Event Hall at various occasions.
In my studies that I have conducted up to now, I have given the utmost attention and diligence to technical elements and creative and innovative aspects by focusing on every period within the history of music. Being inspired by various sources, I have created different types of musical compositions. - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have teaching experience of over 10 years mostly specialized on beginner levels. I have good rapport with students.
- How much do you charge?
- £25/h, one to one lesson.
- Where do you teach?
- I am a visiting teacher. I am East London based (all Newham, South East, Tower Hamlets, Islington) but happy to travel all London.
- When are you available?
- I am available to teach most evenings and weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages and abilities, though I do require that any children are old enough to learn, concentrate and be able to physically reach the piano!

- I hold an up-to-date CRB certificate.
- Do you have a personal message for students?

My Articles
Someone mentioned about music theory?
I always find myself asking the same two questions : What and Why? Maybe because I like to discover, don’t you? and I think about music a lot as well.Well, you never asked yourself what is music? an art isn’t it? A different kind of art that you cannot see, you cannot touch but you can feel (you hear)! Basically yes.. On the other hand...
Why Piano?
Could piano lessons can make a child smarter? Does it help concentration or what is the importance of piano in a child's life? Just for fun, an introduction to music or more? Piano lessons may help your child to develop skills: children who play an instrument score higher on both standard and spatial cognitive development tests alike....
