Aural - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I am currently studying for my Master of Arts in Violin Performance at the Royal Academy of Music.
I have a 2:1 music degree from both Manchester University and the Royal Northern College of Music.
I have ABRSM grade 8 piano. - What kind of experience do you have?
- Since graduating from RNCM in 2009 I have taught for both Stoke on Trent Music Service and Berkshire Maestros Music Service. I have coached large ensembles, taught whole class instrumental lessons as well as giving small group and individual lessons. I have extensive experience teaching privately and I also teach Kings College University students for the Royal Academy of Music.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £20 for 30 minutes and £35 for 60 minutes (travel expenses may be added)
I am willing to discuss the possibility of group discounts. - Where do you teach?
- I am willing to travel to your house throughout London providing you are easy to get to via public transport.
- When are you available?
- I am free to teach in the evenings and at weekends and can be fairly flexible from week to week to fit in with your requirements.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all levels from complete beginners (both children and adults) to advanced students wanting to further their musicianship and technique.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- For those that are keen to take exams I am happy and experienced in preparing pupils for the ABRSM syllabus.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- YES
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I am currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Richard Deakin. I studied for four years at the Royal Northern College of Music with Leland Chen and before that I went to the Purcell School of Music from the age of 11 where my teachers were Evgeny Grach, Maciej Rakowski and Carol Slater.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Learning the violin requires time and effort but I aim to make my lessons enjoyable, fun and creative and I build aural and theory training into the each session so that progress is made more quickly and more organically. For younger children I use games and props to break up the lesson and I find this also helps keep them more motivated and focused which ultimately means that they will enjoy themselves and make speedy progress.
