- Personal Message
- I am a highly-qualified, dynamic and consistently 'outstanding' rated teacher with 7 years' experience in the primary and secondary sectors and specialist knowledge of dyslexia and dyscalculia.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach English and maths up to KS3, and also offer specialist literacy assessments and dyslexia and dyscalculia tuition up to KS4.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a degree from Durham University in mathematics, and Qualified Teacher Status. As well as this, I have a specialist dyslexia qualification that allows me to provide a detailled literacy assessment of any child (which can be communicated to schools), and if necessary to tailor and deliver the BDA-accredited Dyslexia Istitute Literacy Programme to help remedy dyslexic-type problems.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have 7 years of teaching experience in both primary and secondary schools, so my educational knowledge is not outdated, but neither am I inexperienced. My experience of child development, the National Curriculum and current educational best-practice means that I can identify your child's areas of difficulty and build a programme around them in order to accelerate success in maths and English. I firmly believe that teaching based in rigorous research but done through games and many short multi-sensory activities is the reason that my students last year made on average 18 months' progress in their reading age over 9 months.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £40/hour for 1:1 tuition
Book 10 sessions in advance for a 10% discount.
Book 20 sessions in advance for a 15% discount.
Full literacy assessment available (with report) for £120 (approx 1.5 hours of assessment) - Where do you teach?
- I prefer to teach at home as I then have full access to all my multi-sensory equipment. However, I am prepared to travel within Islington, Westminster, Camden and other areas of North London - please enquire.
- When are you available?
- Weekdays after 4pm. During school holidays I have availability during the day as well. Please enquire.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I tutor children in KS1, KS2 and KS3.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an up-to-date CRB check.
