About Emily
- What kind of experience do you have?
Although I am fairly new to tutoring, I feel confident that I am able to help students better understand any economics, business or finance related subject, and any maths or stats issues related to this. I also feel that I could be of help to struggling students in maths up to AS Level. Since I've only just left university, I think I can really relate to the students I tutor.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I have an enhanced CRB disclosure certificate.

I finished my masters degree in economics and finance at Durham University in September 2010, graduating with a distinction. Whilst I hope to start a career in this area in the future, I am currently pursuing my other passion - rowing. I usually do all of my training in the mornings so I am available most afternoons/evenings and weekends to tutor various levels in economics, maths and related subjects.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Economics, Maths, Statistics, Finance, Business Studies
- Tell me about your qualifications.
BA (Hons) Economics with French - Durham University
MSc (distinction) Economics and Finance - Durham University
A Levels in Maths, Economics, French and German
- How much do you charge?
Prices range from £20 to £30 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I mainly tutor from home but can travel anywhere in central Henley.
- When are you available?
Most afternoons, evenings and weekends throughout the whole year.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach maths up to GCSE and all levels of economics. Any age will be welcome.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Anything up to A Level.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I would be happy to help any students on a one-to-one basis. I do not claim to be a teacher, merely an extra bit of support to anyone struggling to get to grips with economics or maths - sometimes it is simply another way of explaining a difficult concept that is needed, or just a little extra attention in a more relaxed environment.
