I have a BA in English and History from University College Cork, an MA in English and Modernities from the same University, and a PhD from Birkbeck College, London.

My standard rate is £35 per hour, plus travel expenses if applicable. I can tutor small groups (up to 3 students) at a reduced rate per student.
- Where do you teach?
I am willing to travel and often do for tutoring. I am based in Leyton, near Stratford and Walthamstow.
I can also tutor from home or on Skype, but can also meet in central London - Bloomsbury, Holborn, Russell Square, in particular.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can help students prepare for GCSEs, A-levels and equivalent qualifications, and for university exams. I can also help students in entry exams to Eton (my last student, I just found out, got in, and English was bringing him down).
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I often tutor over skype and can also provide written feedback on essays by email.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
My aim is always to make the subject comprehensible and engaging, while challenging students to think for themselves.
