Personal Message: I am originally from Taiwan and now living in Birmingham. I have studied music for most of my life and I am working as a performer and teacher all over the UK.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: My main subject is Classical Percussion and also Drum kit for beginners.
I also teach Piano and Music Theory.
As my native language is Mandarin Chinese, I teach Chinese as well.
Tell me about your qualifications.: I studied as an undergraduate at Birmingham Conservatoire from 2004 - 2008, and graduated with a first class degree.
from 2008-2010, I studied as a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music, London and graduated with a distinction.
What kind of experience do you have?: I am currently an accredited teacher at Derbyshire City & County Music Partnership.
I also have some private teaching at home.
I have performed concertos around the UK.
How much do you charge?: I charge 30 pounds per hour (with contract), lesson length can be negotiated.
Where do you teach?: Birmingham, Derbyshire, anywhere in West Midlands welcome. I have full set of instruments at my house so am happy for pupils to come to me in Harborne.
When are you available?: I have spaces most days except Thursday evening and Saturday morning.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: above 5 years old is ideal to start some basic tuition, no maximum age.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: I have experience with both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall music exams, but I am happy to use other boards if desired.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: Yes
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.: I am willing to use online tutoring for Mandarin language skills, and as a back-up in between instrumental lessons.
