- I am an experienced and professional saxophonist. I have performed in a range of diverse ensembles and am fluent in many genres such as classical, jazz, rock and folk.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach the saxophone, soprano, alto, tenor or baritone. My main focus is classical/contemporary but I also teach popular music and jazz.
I teach theory. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a popular music ND Diploma from Manchester City College.
A BA in music performance from Leeds College of music.
Currently undertaking a masters in music performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have extensive and diverse teaching experience, teaching all ages and from beginner to advanced. I have studied a range of genres, and have taken master classes from leading saxophonists which has given me many insights into the different ways of teaching a student.
As a performing saxophonist I have also performed with many ensembles including the RWCMD wind orchestra, the ASA quartet, and Karl Jenkins and the Ariosa choir. As well as many jazz and popular music bands. - How much do you charge?
- I charge £20 for an hour, or £10 for half an hour.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach mainly in Cardiff but am very willing to travel to surrounding areas on request. I prefer to teach at students homes when possible.
- When are you available?
- I'm very flexible, seasonal also available.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages and levels whether you're serious about playing or playing just for your own pleasure. I am also happy to teach in Welsh or English.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- No.
