Personal Message: I am an experienced and professional saxophonist. I have performed in a range of diverse ensembles and am fluent in many genres such as classical, jazz, rock and folk.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I teach the saxophone, soprano, alto, tenor or baritone. My main focus is classical/contemporary but I also teach popular music and jazz.
I teach theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.: I have a popular music ND Diploma from Manchester City College.
A BA in music performance from Leeds College of music.
Currently undertaking a masters in music performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have extensive and diverse teaching experience, teaching all ages and from beginner to advanced. I have studied a range of genres, and have taken master classes from leading saxophonists which has given me many insights into the different ways of teaching a student.
As a performing saxophonist I have also performed with many ensembles including the RWCMD wind orchestra, the ASA quartet, and Karl Jenkins and the Ariosa choir. As well as many jazz and popular music bands.
How much do you charge?: I charge £20 for an hour, or £10 for half an hour.
Where do you teach?: I teach mainly in Cardiff but am very willing to travel to surrounding areas on request. I prefer to teach at students homes when possible.
When are you available?: I'm very flexible, seasonal also available.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I teach all ages and levels whether you're serious about playing or playing just for your own pleasure. I am also happy to teach in Welsh or English.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: No.
