About Pippa
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience teaching individually, in small groups and in whole class settings in both primary and secondary schools (Valley Park School, Maidstone, Pimlico Academy, Lewisham Music Service, Tower Hamlets Arts & Music Education Service).
I have also taught privately in students' homes.
My responsibilities have included: planning and delivering differentiated and engaging flute and recorder lessons to whole class, small group and individual students of all ages and abilities in school and home settings; preparing students' for concerts and examinations; producing creative teaching resources; scheduling lessons; record keeping; report writing; completing data returns and instrument audits in line with music service/school requirements; organising exam entries and accompanists; establishing and maintaining good communication with parents and schools.
I worked as an Orchestral Coach for Yoxford Childrens' Sinfonietta during their summer and Christmas courses as part of Yoxford Arts Festival. Duties included: tutoring students individually; choosing and organising music; conducting rehearsals; designing programmes for concerts; stage managing.
I worked for Trinity College of Music Junior Department which gave me additional experience in taking musicianship classes and leading sectional rehearsals.

- How much do you charge?
My usual rate is £32 per hour or £20 per half hour.
- Where do you teach?
I am happy to teach in my own home in Botley, Hampshire.
I am willing to travel to students' homes. (This may incur an additional travel cost depending on location.)
- When are you available?
I can be fairly flexible with my timetable, so please contact me.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have taught students from the age of 6 up to adult pupils, right from the very first lesson up to grade 8 standard.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I have 100% pass rate for students entering exams both with ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall.
