I am passionate about teaching and having attended some of the country's finest institutions I have picked up my skills from the best and wish to share these with people of all ages and abilities.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
French Horn, Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone, Theory and Aural.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Masters degree in Music from Cambridge University. I also have a post-graduate diploma and a LRAM teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Music.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught privately for many years. I have also worked in many schools (both state and independent) teaching both group and individual lessons.
How much do you charge?
£35 per hour. £20 per half hour. Discounts for group lessons.
Where do you teach?
I live in West London and am happy to teach at my home or in the surrounding areas of Ealing, Uxbridge, Hammersmith and Fulham and Chiswick. I am also happy to travel to North-West and South-West London. I have a car and can drive to student's homes if this is preferable although for trips longer than 40 minutes this is subject to travel expenses.
When are you available?
I am a freelance musician so have a very flexible timetable including evenings, weekends and school holidays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages. I teach all levels of French Horn, Theory and Aural (beginner to advanced) and I teach beginner to intermediate (grade 5) for Trumpet, Cornet and Trombone.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have an up to date CRB check.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained as a French Horn player at the Royal Academy of Music with Richard Watkins and Michael Thompson.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I am currently teaching a group of year 4 girls the French Horn and year 4 boys the Trombone. None of them have ever played a brass instrument and they are having a great time learning together!
