About Ruth
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have seven years teaching experience in a large comprehensive school with Language College status. I have taught French A level and both French and German GCSE classes of all abilities. I have full knowledge of the course requirements and exam techniques needed. I have run many exam booster and revision sessions.

I am a qualified languages teacher. I love helping students to flourish and develop in confidence as language learners. I take pride in helping students to reach their potential by honing their exam technique and improving their language skills.

I teach French to A level and German and Spanish to GCSE standard.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
Qualified Teacher Status (2007) PGCE, French and German (Newcastle University, 2006) BA Modern Languages, 2:1 (French, German and Spanish, 2005)
- How much do you charge?
I charge £20 per hour (£25 for A level). I prefer to tutor from home, but I am willing to travel at an additional charge. I offer reduced rates for small groups.
- Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach at home in the Low Fell area of Gateshead, but travel can sometimes be arranged. I live near the A1 with quick access to Chester-le-Street, Newcastle and Durham.
- When are you available?
I tutor on weekday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings. I can also tutor during the day at certain times.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Age 11-adult
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students for A level French. I also teach German, French and Spanish to GCSE level.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can tutor via Skype if this is convenient.

I have a friendly approach to teaching and always make sure the students feel comfortable during lessons. I adapt my teaching to suit each student's needs and focus on exam techniques alongside the language learning.
