Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Piano - making music through the art of piano playing.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am a Graduate of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (G.G.S.M.) and also a qualified British Suzuki Institute (B.S.I.) piano teacher (level 4)
I won the Gordon Turner Memorial Prize when I was at the Royal College of Music and the Adelaide Alexander Memorial Prize while at the Guildhall. In 2003 I was a music workshop leader for the Irene Taylor Trust (music in prisons) and we won a British Composers Award for our songbook "Beyond the Secret Door".
What kind of experience do you have?
I have a huge range of teaching and performing experience. Since 1987 I have taught in London schools, at home privately and I have also been employed extensively as a workshop leader for London Orchestras and charitable trusts to deliver music workshops in prisons, schools and hospitals etc. At home I have a Suzuki teaching practice in addition to my traditionally taught students.
How much do you charge?
I charge £36 per hour.
Where do you teach?
I teach at home in the Stockwell and Vauxhall area of South London. I am easy to travel to from Battersea, Clapham, Kennington, Wandsworth, Brixton, Victoria and Pimlico.
When are you available?
By arrangement.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages taught - enthusiastic adults as well as children from age 3.5 years and older (Suzuki piano).
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I am CRB cleared to work with children.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of The Incorporated Society of Musicians (I.S.M.) and the British Suzuki Institute.
Where and with whom did you train?
My formal training was at The Royal College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Mary Peppin, Joan Havil and Norman Beedie.
