Personal Message: I am a freelance pianist and piano teacher. I currently teach for Borough Music School, and accompany classes for The Royal Ballet School, London Children's Ballet, and Chelsea Ballet.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: Piano
Tell me about your qualifications.: I have a PGdip in piano performance from Trinity College of Music, and a BMus (hons) in piano performance from Birmingham Conservatoire. As part of the BMus (hons) course I achieved a Distinction for the Techniques of Teaching module.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have been teaching privately for over 6 years, and at Borough Music School for 5 years (please visit the Borough Music School website for more information). I have also taught for Enfield Arts Support Service and Aston Performing Arts.
How much do you charge?: £30 per hour
Where do you teach?: I teach at students' homes within the Forest Hill, Honor Oak Park and Lewisham area, but I am willing to travel further if convenient by public transport.
When are you available?: I am currently available Mondays 6pm - 8pm, Tuesdays 9am - 1pm, Thursdays 7pm - 8pm, Fridays 9am - 8pm. During school holidays I have many more times availabe. Please don't hesitate to contact me and we can discuss if a suitable time can be found.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: All ages.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: I teach beginners through to Diploma level.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: CRB checked.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.: No online tutoring.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?: I belong to the Musicians Union and the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

I would recommend reading the following books to help improve your approach to piano playing. They have all influenced my teaching and playing. They include 'The Art of Piano Playing' by Heinrich Neuhaus, 'The Young Pianist' by Joan Last, 'Chopin: Pianist and Teacher' by Eigeldinger, and 'The Science of Pianoforte Technique' by Thomas Fielden.
