Which subject(s) do you teach?
I believe it important that students have the benefit of specialised tuition at all stages, therefore I teach only French Horn.
Tell me about your qualifications.
L.R.A.M. teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Music.
What kind of experience do you have?
Many years of experience as a performer having been a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra for nine years and played as Guest Principal Horn with the majority of major UK orchestras. Dozens of private students, many of whom have progressed to further studies at London colleges and the Horn section coach for the National Youth Orchestra of Wales for past eight years. External examiner at London Music colleges and panel member for BBC Young Musician of the year (brass category).
How much do you charge?
Base rate of thirty five pounds per hour, negotiable for first lesson and for reduced / increased duration of subsequent lessons.
Where do you teach?
Lessons in Fulham, West London or at students homes / rehearsal studios by arrangement. Some students have suitable facilities at their work place so prepared to travel to the City at mutually convenient times.
When are you available?
Monday to Saturday by arrangement.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
From enthusiatic beginners to professional standard audition preparation. I teach students of all ages and abilities.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
All grade exams, college auditions, end of year and final recitals at music colleges (R.A.M, R.C.M., G.S.M.D., Trinity College etc).
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Annual CRB check as part of NYOW coaching duties.
