- What kind of experience do you have?
A former college lecturer, I have been tutoring privately at the levels and variants shown above for the last 15 years.

No. As only one parent has ever asked for it, I stopped using the service some time ago...
- Tell me about some of your current students.
They vary, mostly local, others being from India, Pakistan, the Middle East and elsewhere. Some have always had difficulty with the written word. They receive the extra attention and encouragement they crave. Others, need merely to learn how to successfully structure essays, and the benefits of 'economy with words', each of which will much improve their chances in the exam.

A family man, former competitive dancer, local councillor and RAF marksman, my interests nowadays are teaching, writing, gardening and golf... (though on particularly fine days not always in that order...)
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
'English', at N5 and Scottish 'Higher' level.
I have some experience of EFL work where the student already has a goodish grasp of 'English'.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a 2.1 MA Honours degree in English and Scottish Literature.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £35 per hour due to the comprehensiveness of my tutoring programme, which includes providing sample 'A' pass essays, similarly, answers to 'close reading' questions, ample 'hands on' help with all writing elements of the exam, on-going email support, and much, much more....
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my home here in Aberdeen's west end.
I also have a well-tried and successful on-line tutoring programme. Here, the pupil receives the same help as my one-to-one pupils, this time by emailed advice, sample 'A' plus essays, answers to 'close reading' questions... and much, much more. On-going emailed help with classwork is included. I am here 24/7 to deal with each and every sort of question or concern regarding forthcoming exam requirements.
The service has proved a boon to the disabled, to out-of-town schoolchildren, and to a variety of 'time-tied' adults seeking merely to improve their writing skills.
- When are you available?
Weekdays, from 4.30 pm Monday to Friday, and occasionally Saturday mornings. School holidays too can be usefully utilised from time to time.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Usually, 15-17 year olds, also the occasional adult wishing to revisit 'lapses' in their schooldays.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Mainly, N5 and Scottish 'Highers'.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have a host of material covering a variety of genres prepared in readiness, and supplement all with relevant emailed support as necessary.
I have been successfully using on-line tuition for some three years now.
