Dynamic, vibrant, highly-trained and skilled musician with much performing and teaching experience in Cardiff, London and abroad, including New York, across Europe and West Africa.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach all clarinets and all saxophones, from beginner to advanced levels, in a variety of styles
GCSE, AS Level, A Level Music and AS Level Music Technology tutoring, as well as all ABRSM Practial and Theory Grades (1-8 and Diploma levels). Preparation for Music Conservatoire Auditions, as well as tutoring aspects of the BMus and MA/MMus degree is also offered
Tell me about your qualifications.
PhD (to commence 2011) at Royal Holloway University, multi-disciplinary including aspects of music, music education, ethnomusicology and social sciences. Jennie has been awarded a College Research Scholarship from the University to undertake this Doctorate.
MMus (to be completed 2011) from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama
BMus(Hons) from the Royal College of Music, London
- Both of these degree courses have been 'Joint Principal Study' Clarinet and Saxophone - ie. both instruments have been studied to an equal level - a very rare qualification. Throughout her Masters course, Jennie has been funded by five different scholarship funds including the prestigious Countess of Munster of Munster Award

Qualifications before entry into Music College:
'Distinction' achieved in all ABRSM grades taken on both clarinet and saxophone (grade 8 Distinction achieved on both instruments by age 14)
GCSE Music, taken aged 12 (Grade A), AS Level Music, taken aged 13 (Grade A), A Level Music, taken aged 14 (Grade A), AS Level Music Technology, taken aged 15 (Grade A).
Jennie was invited to attend the Royal College of Music (London) a 'year early', aged 17, following audition
What kind of experience do you have?
Numerous and various.

Jennie is the Deputy Saxophone Tutor and Deputy Clarinet Tutor at the prestigious Junior Department of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She is also clarinet/saxophone tutor at The Cathedral School Cardiff (Wales' leading independant day school) and Prospect House Preparatory School in Putney, London. She also has tutoring and ensemble coaching experience from 2 months spent as Clarinet and Saxophone Teaching Assistant at the New York Summer Music Festival. Jennie has experience of teaching both children and adults, of all abilities (practically and in music theory), through private tuition.

Jennie has extensive solo, chamber and orchestral performing experience, details of which can be provided upon request.

£35 per hour.

When are you available?
Flexible - weekdays, during the day through to early evening

From 10 years of age upwards, and from beginner to advanced.
