Personal Message
I am a friendly and patient teacher with an enthusiasm for music. I would like to pass on that enthusiasm to other people and show them that it really is a joy to be a musician.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the cello up to grade 8 standard. I also teach the piano and the bass guitar up to grade 5 standard.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have completed a Bmus degree in Music at Canterbury Christ Church University, receiving a 2:1. I have a merit in Grade 8 Cello and a pass in Grade 5 Jazz Piano. I have 3 A levels.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been a member of the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra conducted by Peter Stark, which is regarded as one of the finest Youth Orchestras in the country. During my time there, I have received great cello sectional tuition from cellists from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. I am involved in a string quartet which plays for function events like weddings etc. I have also had jazz piano lessons from professional pianist David Reese-Williams.
How much do you charge?
My basic rate is £25 an hour.
Where do you teach?
I am willing to teach around Kent, but I am based in Canterbury.
When are you available?
I am available weekdays and weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can teach all ages (apart from under the age of 5). I teach all standards for cello and up to grade 5 on the piano and bass guitar.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
No.
